We saw some really breathtaking gowns at the 86th Academy Awards Red Carpet, however, there did seem to be a few misses on the Oscars 2014 red carpet. Here’s our pick of the Worst Dressed actresses and we have two surprises for you as well. (AP)

Emma Watson: Though 'The Bling Ring' actress looked beautiful from the neck up, we weren’t too impressed with her Vera Wang with the sheer back. We wish the starlet had picked something younger and more colourful. (Reuters)

Anna Hathaway: No doubt, Anne Hathaway showed off her enviable slim figure beautifully in her black sophisticated dress, however, the reflecting metallic breastplate was a bit disappointing. (Reuters)

Julia Roberts: Though we love Julia Roberts, we think the actress could have done so much better tonight. Her black lace gown was pretty but the lace inset seemed a bit out of place. (AP)

Penelope Cruz: The actress failed to impress in her pink Giambattista Valli gown. The black belt was seemed almost too harsh on the pale pink and the half-cape definitely was a no-win. (Reuters)

Idina Menzel: Singer and actress Idina Mezel's Vera Wang dress was pretty no doubt, but the hair do was limp and a bit drab. An elegant updo would have made the gown stand out and let the Chimento jewellery do the talking. (AP)

Margot Robbie: The 'Wolf of Wall Street' actress aimed for a gothic look but almost seemed vampish. The gown was a bit too plain for the young actress and we can’t say we loved the heavy makeup and dark lips. (AP)

Meryl Streep: The veteran actress is too great to have showed up on the red carpet in an unflattering white dropping blouse and skirt with an impressive belt.

Anna Kendrick: The 'Twilight' actress’ J Mendel gown was a bit of a mess with too much happening all at once – the floral patterned sheer detail at the waist, asymmetrical neckline, slit down the front and criss-crossing back straps.

Lady Gaga: Lady Gaga never fails to surprise us on the red carpet with her outlandish looks that are so clearly her style. However, the singer was a bit of a bore in the metallic pink Versace gown, not to mention the chiffon scarf. (Reuters)

Pharrell Williams: The 'Happy' singer sported a pair of shorts on the red carpet which is a straight no no. Though he looked cute, there is simply no excuse for men to bare their legs at the Oscars.

Jared Leto: He may have won an Oscar tonight, but Jared Leto’s choice of a white tuxedo was somewhat tacky especially with the red bow-tie.
