To aid the victims who are stranded in most inundated areas across the rain-battered Chennai, people on social media have put out tweets, posts and even a Google document with information on availability of shelters in the city.
A Google document, ‘#ChennaiRains (Available Shelter, Rescues Needed, Helpline Numbers, Other Resources)’ is being widely shared on social media platforms which has information to locate a shelter, occupancy and corresponding contact information and social media links. The document has got more than 200 entries (till 9:30 am).
Another dedicated webpage ‘klipher.com/savechennai‘ published a similar post listing information on availability of shelters in the city.

The Twitteratti has also come to the rescue by tweeting, retweeting and curating contact information of shelters in the city
Please use hashtag #ChennaiMicro for food parcel pickup information. It will be easier for our team to respond. Thanks. @rj_balaji
