Xiaomi Mi Festival: 1,00,000 units of Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 sold

Xiaomi sold over 100,000 units of its Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones during flash sales.

Xiaomi India sold over 100,000 units of its Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones and other accessories sold in a day during its Mi Festival. The company said that with over 1.2 million people visited Mi.com during the festival. Also, a new game was launched on Mi Store app for fans, which recorded over 2 million gameplays.

Xiaomi celebrated the Mi fan Festival on on April 6 and hosted two flash sales for Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 smartphones. The festival was celebrated in India to mark Xiaomi’s sixth birthday. Xiaomi also launched its 20,000 mAH Mi Power Bank. Mi Power Bank costs Rs 1,699.

Other discounts include Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro at Rs 1,399, Mi In-Ear Headphones and a Mi band at Rs 1,598, LED Light Enhanced at Rs 249.

Manu Kumar Jain, Head, Xiaomi India said, “Having sold more than 100,000 units in a single day on Mi.com is one of the biggest milestones for us this year. This is the first time we have sold these many units on a single day and we are extremely thankful to all of our fans for their overwhelming support for Mi India.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 packs a huge 4,050 mAh battery and easily lasts for a day and a half. Xiaomi Mi 5, on the other hand, will give some serious competition to some premium smartphones including iPhone 6 and more.

Xiiaomi Mi 5 costs Rs 24,999. It comes with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5.15-inch full HD display, a 3000 mAh battery, Android 6 and a 16 megapixel rear camera with four-axis OIS. Xiaomi launched only the 3 GB+32 GB version for India.

The Redmi Note 3 is the first full-metal body smartphone in Xiaomi’s Note series. Also, the Redmi Note 3 has a vivid, crisp 5.5-inch full HD display, perfect for binge-watching Netflix sessions. In our review, we called the Redmi Note 3 a stellar smartphone, and loved its overall performance. The camera was its weakest point according to us. Redmi Note 3 comes with a 4050 mAh battery, which will easily last you a day and a half.

Mi Fan Festival 2016 was also celebrated in China, Malaysia and Singapore.
