A humanoid robot is designed to help those caring for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). It was presented at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Wednesday.

The robot is capable of verbal communication and sets of facial expressions. The friendly programming of this robot is designed to interact with elementary and middle school age children with ASD. This would improve the social communication skills of the children.

It is an affordable robot which seems to have eased social anxiety in students with ASD, help them identify emotions and enhance the development of their social and emotional skills.
