Silver medalist at the Asian Championships,Mandeep Jangra 69kg rounded off a second successive winning day for India at the World Boxing Championships as he eased past Tanzania8217;s Selemani Kidunda to enter the second round of the event.
The lone Indian boxer to step into the ring,Mandeep out-punched his rival 3-0 in a one-sided contest. The 20-year-old was dominant from the word go as winning 30-26,30-27 and 30-27 on the three judges scorecards to sail into round of 32.
Mandeep will next face Serdar Hudayberdiyev of Turkmenistan on October 20. On Thursday Vijender Singh 75kg,who opened India8217;s medal account with a bronze in 2009,will face Sweden8217;s Hampus Henriksson in his opening bout.
