“David and Victoria have been wanting to sell up for a couple of years now but the timing was never right. They didn’t want to lose money, putting their homes up for sale during a slump in the property market. So,after getting it valued two years ago, decided to hold off until now,” a source said.

“The Beckhams have made LA their home, and the kids are settled there,” the source added.

The couple bought Beckhingham Palace’s sprawling 22-acre estate in 1999,shortly after tying the knot. They also bought a seven bedroom house in France in 2003,but have barely spent any time in it.

The Beckham clan moved to sunny Los Angeles in 2007 so that footballer David,36,could take up a spot playing for local team LA Galaxy.
