Japanese food is known for its precision, intricacies and amazing presentation. The South Asian cuisine has mesmerised the world with its appealing look, exotic taste and high health quotient.
The cuisine revels in the detailing, which makes it picture perfect for all the avid Instagrammers out there. Not only that, this year, we’ve we have already seen Mosaic Sushi, Pokemon rice-balls, sushi burrito or makirrito and the latest addition to this innovative list is Sushi Burgers!
Yes, food bloggers and chefs around the world have given the authentic Japanese dish a cool fast-food touch. The main idea is to give feisty twist on a traditionally delicate delicacy. Using the same ingredients of a traditional sashimi or maki roll, one can transform it from rolls to burger.

The simple formula is — use the sticky rice laced with sesame seeds to form the bun patty and for the filing use anything from fish to chicken to even beef. In fact, feel free to create your own version of this burger as long as the filling is locked in between the ‘rice buns’, you’re good to go.
While Japanese food bloggers and restaurants are using the traditional items such as raw tune, salmon, oshinko (Japanese pickled radish), avocado and cucumber, foodies around the world have given it different twists. There’s a PETA version that shows an amazing vegan rendition, many who do not jump at consuming raw fish/meat have used grilled beef patty, crispy teriyaki chicken, fried bacon.

The assembling is pretty easy, take round moulds to shape the sticky rice into bun (you can choose to lightly fry it on the pan), add a layer of sauce (choose anything from tomato to mayonnaise), add a few veggies (lettuce, scraped cucumber, sliced avocado, etc.), add the meat/fish patty, top it up with sauce again and place the top bun. You can either use a thin slice of seaweed roll or a long tooth-prick to secure it.
