Adoor Gopalakrishnan: Ineligible people storm into the halls expecting some hot scenes
Adoor Gopalakrishnan said: 'While eligible persons are waiting outside the theatres, ineligible ones storm into the halls expecting some hot scenes.'

Ace filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan said delegates of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) should know English to understand films with subtitles in English.
The 19th edition of IIFK is slated for next month and huge response of delegates has been a major highlight of the film festival in Kerala.
The IFFK advisory committee, headed by Gopalakrishnan, has introduced a screening method for selecting delegates, who would be issued theatre passes during the festival.
The application form for delegate pass has sought details about applicant’s education, history of attending festivals, and applicant’s favourite director and film.
Addressing the media, Adoor Gopalakrishnan said it is wrong practice that anyone with a delegate pass can view films. “While eligible persons are waiting outside the theatres, ineligible ones storm into the halls expecting some hot scenes. That practice has to be changed. Delegates should be adequately educated to understand world films screened with sub-titles in English,” he said.
