At least ten thousand guests are flying down to Nagpur for the wedding ceremony of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s daughter. According to the Hindustan Times, fifty chartered flights have been arranged to ferry passengers for the marriage ceremony. But Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s office on Sunday rejected the claim terming them ‘baseless’ and ‘mischievous’.
The statement, further said that only ten chartered flights have landed at the Nagpur airport over the last 24 hours. The wedding ceremony is to take place in Nagpur today.
Top leaders including BJP chief Amit Shah, Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Prakash Javadekar and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray are expected to attend the marriage ceremony. Industrialists including Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani are also reportedly on the guest list and will attend the event.
Gadkari’s daughter Ketki, the youngest of his three children, will tie the knot with Aditya Kaskhedikar, who works with Facebook in the US. Gadkari, who belongs to Nagpur, has two sons – Nikhil and Sarang.
Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao and Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit have expressed their inability to be present at the wedding, but said they would attend the reception to be held on December 8 in New Delhi.
