Those moves in Whistle baja were just a trailer. There is a lot more to Tiger Shroff that will reflect in his character.” Director Sabbir Khan’s words give a hint at the rigorous training that Shroff had to go through, in order to achieve the right look for his character – Babloo Sharma. Although the actor has been physically fit since childhood and blessed with a flexible body, he had to work on shedding all the muscular weight from the biceps and triceps, since he had bulked up before he was signed for the project. “He was extremely muscular, but flexible at the same time. So, we decided that Tiger will have to undergo extensive workshops to achieve a lean frame, which could be achieved only with the right amount of training and a proper diet,” adds Khan. Shroff quipped, “Since I play a young boy next-door yet bindaas guy, Sabbir sir wanted me to go through a specific routine, which consisted of a low-carb diet and an extensive workout, which was a mix of martial arts, cardio and gymnastics.”
Tiger stunts
Since day one, Khan was sure that he wanted to tap into Shroff ‘s acting potential. There were several aspects that he became aware of only after getting Shroff on board. “Tiger is a state level gymnast and a fabulous dancer, so that helped the process of locking his final look. After observing his plus points, we infused more dare-devil stunts and action sequences in the script. He did all the stunts in his own way. Everyone on the sets would keep saying that a new style has been created — The Tiger Shroff Style,” mentioned Khan.
Sports fanatic
Shroff has been an active sportsperson since childhood and he confessed that his liking towards a variety of sports including football, gymnastics among others, gave him the perfect agility and flexibility to further strengthen his muscles and perfect the lean look. “Since childhood, I was never interested in anything apart from sports. Even now, I am actively involved in martial arts and never spend a day without my training session. We made the routine a little more aggressive for Heropanti, since my role requires me to do a lot of crazy stunts and unique dance moves,” stated Shroff.
Hair : Director Sabbir Khan wanted Tiger to chop off his locks. The process began with creating the right haircut for him. So, the stylists designed a more boyish, neat crop for the actor.
Going lean: Tiger has a holistic approach towards workouts. To achieve the lean look, he opted for suspended workouts and a lot of cardiovascular training in the form of dancing, running, sprinting, gymnastics and martial arts.
Outfits: The actor will be seen wearing a lot of casual T-shirts, pastel coloured shirts in cotton and chunky accessories on his wrist. He also sports a belt bearing the word H, which stands for Heropanti.
ABS: Tiger has had six pack abs since the past six – eight years. He mentioned that measuring food and calorie intake apart from daily training helped him. He also confessed that abs are more visible on thin people
Toned legs:To make sure that his legs look toned and match his overall lean physique, Tiger underwent strength training and closer to the film’s schedule, he would religiously work out for hours.
Diet Talks
Apart from the set fitness regime, Tiger Shroff followed a low carb diet, called Paleo, which is also referred to as the cave man diet. His daily dose of food included items such as fish, chicken, eggs, green leafy vegetables and all kinds of dry fruits. “I used to eat a lot of figs and almonds. Basically, this was a low carbohydrate diet and I had to follow it rigorously for three months. It’s just once a week that I would alter the diet a little,” stated Shroff. He also confessed that despite being a big foodie, he had to let go of chocolates and ice creams. “It’s almost been two years since that I haven’t tasted any form of sweets. But, I feel, all the work has paid off,” quipped Shroff.
