Arshad Warsi who has wrapped up the unusual love story The Legend Of Michael Mishra and the revenge drama Guddu Rangeela that has him playing a serious part now has a clutch of new films. While both TLOMM and Guddu… are slated to release next year Warsi is off to London to shoot for his next called Welcome To Karachi. The film to be directed by Ashish R Mohan who helmed the Akshay Kumar starrer Khiladi 786 has Irrfan as his co-star.
“It’s quite a mad film. We are playing two foolish sailors who land up in Karachi without any papers, susequently we get to interact with the Talibans and a series of incidents are triggered off! Since we could not shoot in Karachi we recreated the city in London. In fact the other actors will be Pakistanis from there as the director needed actors who spoke in Pakistani accent,”explained the actor who will be stationed there for a month and a half for the project.
After WTK it will be another comedy for the actor, a Prakash Jha Productions film which will be shot in Bhopal. “After I come back from London, I will be off to Bhopal. The title of the film is yet to be finalised and I cannot talk much except for the fact that it is not a political drama, but a comedy and quite unlike a Prakash Jha film. Saurabh Shukla also stars in the film that will be directed by a guy called Saurab,” he said.
Interestingly, Subhash Kapoor the director of Guddu Rangeela has also signed him for his next. “ Yes, it looks like that film will also happen.”
