The film, 72 Miles Ek Pravas, is the first Marathi film from Akshay Kumar’s banner, Grazing Goat Pictures, that had earlier won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the Best Film (Jury) has gone on to make a hat-trick. The film has won three awards at the Maharashtra State Film Awards 2013 – 2014 namely Best Grameen Film, Best Director, late Rajeev Patil and Best Actress, Smita Tambe.
Speaking on winning the Best Grameen Film, Ashvini Yardi, producer, Grazing Goat Pictures said, “This is one film which is very close to my heart. I am very happy that we, at Grazing Goat Pictures, entered into Marathi cinema with this particular film. Such kind of appreciation has definitely given me boost for producing different subjects in Marathi films. We would like to dedicate this award to director Rajeev Patil without whose hard work and dedication this wouldn’t have been possible.”
