Vetrimaaran to adapt ‘Shoes Of The Dead’ into film

Vetrimaaran, fresh out of the success of the critically acclaimed Tamil film "Visaaranai", has acquired the rights for the book "Shoes Of The Dead" to adapt it into a feature film.

Filmmaker Vetrimaaran, fresh out of the success of the critically acclaimed Tamil film “Visaaranai”, has acquired the rights for the book “Shoes Of The Dead” to adapt it into a feature film.

Authored by Neelima Kota, the book throws the spotlight on farmers’ suicides.

“Thanks Vetrimaaran for choosing my book ‘Shoes Of The Dead’ for a movie. Farmer suicides have waited long for spotlight,” Neelima posted on her Twitter page on Wednesday.

The film will be produced by Vetrimaaran’s home banner, Grass Root Film Company.

The National Award winning filmmaker’s “Visaaranai” was also partly based on Tamil novel “Lock Up”.
