Action in Bollywood has changed a lot, says Rustom star Akshay Kumar

Rustom star Akshay Kumar, who has done several daredevil stunts in Bollywood, says the action genre has witnessed changes over the years.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who has done several daredevil stunts in Bollywood, says the action genre has witnessed changes over the years. Akshay believes that action sequences have changed due to influx of technology from places like China and Australia.

“Action has changed a lot over the years. We have started getting so much help from Hollywood, from the Chinese film industry, from Hong Kong and Australia… So we are getting a lot of technology here now,” he said.

“Because of this, we have changed a lot (in action) and we will keep on changing. As much as the business of the films are going to increase, the action will change,” Akshay said in response to a question posed by IANS during a media interaction for the promotion his film Rustom here.

Akshay has always been known for doing his own stunts in the movie. While he has undergone martial arts training, he has also worked very hard on his body. His body work includes a range of action movies including Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Khiladi, Khiladi 420, Rowdy Rathore, Sabse Bada Khiladi and much more. His recent action movies include impressive Baby, Airlift, Gabbar and so on. His daredevil stunts in movies have also earned him a nickname – ‘Khiladi.’

Rustom is based on the theme of infidelity and extra-marital relationships and is based on the case of naval officer K.M. Nanavati and the murder of his wife’s lover. Also starring Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Arjan Bajwa and Pavan Malhotra among others, the film is set to release on August 12.
