Suzlon Foundation,along with Equal Community Foundation,recently hosted a seminar on engaging men for ensuring gender equality.

Suzlon Foundation,along with Equal Community Foundation,recently hosted a seminar on engaging men for ensuring gender equality. It was held at the Suzlon One Earth Campus on April 28. The speakers at the seminar were Seemantinee Khot,Suzlon Foundation head; Harish Sadani from Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA); Achyut Borgaonkar from Tathapi; and more. Participants at the seminar were introduced to the approaches adopted by various organisations working with men. The obstacles and challenges that stop projects from engaging men were also discussed. Equal Community Foundation’s on-going programme – Action for Equality Program – demonstrates that the approach of engaging men is delivering results. About 47 percent women associated with the AFE graduates reported a significant reduction in violence and discrimination at the hands of the men who are a part of the programme.

Wishing Well

Children from the Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra (BSSK),Pune had an interesting visitor recently. Chhota Bheem from POGO reached the BSSK campus to celebrate his birthday and performed with the kids. “ We are thankful to POGO for spending such a good time with our kids and giving them the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of their favourite character Chhota Bheem with him”,said Maina Shetty,Assistant Director,BSSK. Monica Tata,General Manager,Entertainment Networks,South Asia,Turner International India Pvt Ltd said,“By associating with an NGO like Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra it brings us great joy to see the faces of these kids light up.”
