Uttar Pradesh: Decomposed bodies of woman, 3 daughters found in house

The bodies were in highly decomposed state and the police suspect it to be a case of murder.

A 44-year-old woman and her three daughters were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house in Maurawan police station area in Unnao district Wednesday morning. The bodies were in highly decomposed state and the police suspect it to be a case of murder.

The deceased are identified as Sarita, Monica (21), Astha alias Sonu (14) and Mahima (10). Sarita was staying along with daughters at Shivpura locality while her husband, Manoj Kumar, is employed in Dubai. Additional Superintendent of Police, Hardayal Singh said the bodies appeared to be two days old, adding that the police are waiting for the autopsy report to confirm the cause of death.

SHO, Maurawan police station, Shyam Prasad Shukla said locals informed the police this morning about a foul smell emanating from the house, which was locked from inside. A team rushed to the spot and broke into the house to find three bodies in the courtyard and Monica’s lying in one of the rooms, he added.

Nothing was found missing and there was no sign of any struggle. Since the bodies were highly decomposed, any injury mark was not visible, said the SHO. A forensic team is examining the finger prints collected from the house.
