‘Going overboard’, ‘bundle of lies’: BJP, BRS leaders hit out at Rahul Gandhi for ‘KCR’s remote control with Modi’ remark
BJP leader G Kishan Reddy slammed Gandhi for referring to BRS as the "B team of the BJP" in Telangana.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “KCR’s remote control with Modi” remark has invited the ire of both Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana, with BJP leader and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday claiming that the Congress leader had “gone overboard” after the party’s electoral win in Karnataka.
Reddy also slammed Gandhi for referring to BRS as the “B team of the BJP” in Telangana. The Union Minister clarified that the BJP would not form an alliance with either the BRS or Congress for the upcoming elections in the state.
“Congress fought the election in Telangana by compromising with BRS. We will not ally with BRS or Congress. He (Rahul Gandhi) is going overboard and speaking, just because they won one election in Karnataka,” news agency ANI quoted Reddy as saying.

This came after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a public meeting in Khammam, described the Telangana’s ruling party as “BJP’s B Team” and said “we have defeated BJP in Karnataka, and similarly, we will defeat their B team, BRS, in Telangana.”
“In Telangana, it is a fight between the Congress and the BJP’s B team, BRS. Like we defeated the BJP in Karnataka, similarly, we’ll defeat their B team in Telangana. During the opposition meeting in Delhi, we made it clear to the opposition that Congress would not join the meeting if TRS (now BRS) was part of it. We can never make a settlement with the BJP’s B team,” said Gandhi.
Meanwhile, BRS leader Dasoju Sravan termed Gandhi’s speech as “baseless” and “a bundle of lies.”
“Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the Khammam meeting was a bundle of lies, and he made baseless allegations, probably based on the script prepared by the Congress workers in Telangana. This is very unfortunate, news agency ANI quoted Sravan as saying.

As the Telangana elections are scheduled to be held later this year, the grand old party is leaving no stone unturned to ensure its victory.
Hitting out at the BRS, Rahul Gandhi proposed a new name for the party, calling it the “BJP Rishtedar Samiti.”
He also slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, claimimg that the BRS chief shattered the dreams of farmers, laborers, and the oppressed in the state.
Flagging the ED questioning of Rao’s daughter, K Kavitha, earlier this year in connection with Delhi’s now-scrapped liquor policy, Rahul said the BRS chief and his party colleagues had become subservient to the BJP and ruled out joining any alliance that involved the BRS.
“KCR (as Rao is often called) is seeking protection from Narendra Modi’s government as KCR’s daughter is involved in the Delhi liquor case. Modi is now pressuring the KCR government to support BJP. The remote control of KCR is in Modi’s hands now.”
Speaking of the Congress’s campaign in Karnataka ahead of the May 10 Assembly polls, Rahul said it was a fight between “a corrupt and anti-poor government” and “the poor, OBCs, minorities and oppressed” of the state.
“TRS has changed its came to BRS, the BJP Rishtedar Samiti,” the Congress leader said speaking at the Telangana Janagarjana Sabha at Khamamm.
Emphasising on how the Telangana’s ruling party has paired up with the BJP, Gandhi said, “In the Parliament, Congress stood against BJP, but TRS and CM KCR became BJP’s B team. TRS extended its support to BJP for the Farmers Bill. PM Modi has CM KCR’s remote control, therefore he does whatever is asked from him.” (With ANI inputs)
