Delhi pollution: Now, entry points for trucks sealed

L-G Anil Baijal has directed the Delhi Traffic Police and municipal corporations to prohibit the entry of heavy and medium goods vehicles from 11 pm on Thursday till 11 pm on November 12.

The entry points to the national capital will be sealed by the Delhi Police for trucks, barring those carrying essential items. This comes after Delhi L-G Anil Baijal met CM Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday. The L-G has directed the Delhi Traffic Police and municipal corporations to prohibit the entry of heavy and medium goods vehicles from 11 pm on Thursday till 11 pm on November 12.

Meanwhile, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari Thursday directed officials of all highway projects to take stringent steps at construction sites of road works to check pollution. “The Minister … has said that directions have been issued to project directors, contractors and field -level officials working on highways projects around Delhi NCR to take stringent steps to check pollution…”
