GURGAON POLICE Monday arrested a 28-year-old auto driver for the murder of two women. According to police, the accused murdered the first woman with the help of the second victim, whom he then murdered with the help of a third woman.
Police said the first murder was carried out in November 2015, while the second was executed in May this year.
The auto driver, identified as Subodh Kumar alias Chautala — who hails from Nalanda, Bihar and resided in Gurgaon’s Chakkarpur village — was arrested in connection with the second murder in August, and was found to be involved in the first murder only last week.

According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sushant Lok police station Gaurav Phogat, Chautala met his second victim — a 25-year-old sex worker — in 2015. The two struck up a relationship, and she confided in him that the woman she worked for, Neelam alias Nargis (45), denied her the full pay due to her.
Police said the two decided to murder Nargis. They strangled her on November 10, 2015, after which they dumped her body near Saraswati Kunj in Sector 53, police said.
The decomposed body was discovered two days later and a case registered.
A few months later, Chautala got involved with another woman, Maya, police said.
Fearing that his previous girlfriend and accomplice would expose his role in Nargis’s murder to avenge his “disloyalty”, he and Maya strangled her to death, police said. A case was registered regarding the incident under IPC sections 302 and 201 .
Chautala and Maya were arrested for the second murder in August, but it was only last week that Gurgaon police figured out his role in the murder of Nargis.
“Chautala was brought from Bhondsi Jail on a production warrant and kept in five-day police remand, during which he confessed to the murder,” said Phogat.
