AAP: Aseemanand’s claims exposes BJP’s anti-national stand

The evidence lays bare the hypocrisy of the RSS and the BJP.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday hit out at “affiliated organisations of the Sangh Parivar” and called them a threat to the country’s unity.

The comments came in lieu of an interview published by Caravan, wherein Aseemanand — the main accused in the Samjhauta, Mecca Masjid and Ajmer Dargah blasts — had claimed that he had the backing of the Sangh Parivar leadership.

AAP leader Prashant Bhushan referred to parts of the interview in which it was alleged that Aseemanand had spoken to Narendra Modi when Keshubhai Patel was Chief Minister of Gujarat, and had been told to “continue what he was doing”.

“Aseemanand’s revelations are extremely disturbing, since they point towards a systematic collusion between terrorist elements, the top leadership of the Sangh and the present CM of a state. The evidence lays bare the hypocrisy of the RSS and the BJP, which constantly talk about the safety and integrity of the nation and at the same time support anti-national, divisive activities of the most violent and dangerous kind,” Bhushan said.

“The BJP has to clarify whether it regards such violent activities by members of the RSS as anti-national. The BJP and its leaders should ask its members to shun such organisations,” he said.
