Cultural terrorism: Aamir Khan dividing India in the name of tolerance

It's time for people like Aamir Khan to show what they have done for this country. It is the country that has given them everything till now.

I think it is the saddest day for the nation when a person like Aamir Khan comes out with a statement against the country saying it is an intolerant nation while this is the very nation that has made him a very big star.

He has not given enough reasons for saying so. Just because Kiran said so? I would like to ask Mr. Aamir Khan to name the country which is more tolerant than us. I am sure he will not find a country that is more tolerant than India.

I feel that this is a form of cultural terrorism where Mr Aamir Khan is dividing the country into two societies in the name of tolerance and intolerance. In a country where the wife of a colonel, who lays down his life to protect people like Aamir and Kiran, says that she will send her sons to the army so that they can protect the country, you think she would say that if the country was intolerant?

It’s time for people like Aamir to show what they have done for this country. It is the country that has given them everything till now. They have not done anything for this country. Aamir has not done anything like Nana Patekar who stood up for farmers.

I have never seen Aamir come out in the open and adopt a village. He has entertained people and earned money. He cannot accuse the country, that made him a big star, of being intolerant. Had the country been intolerant, he wouldn’t have been a star. This is a very shameful act.

Recently, Kiran organised a film festival – Mumbai Academy of Moving Image – where thousands enjoyed themselves. If the country had been intolerant, the festival wouldn’t have taken place. Aamir is leading the best possible life in the country. He’s receiving love from people. With his remarks, he has insulted all those who made him a star. He has insulted me. I have adored and clapped at his performances. I openly challenge Aamir to sit for a one-to-one debate with me on the subject. If he want to leave the country, he can. Nobody will stop him. But what is it that this country has not given Aamir and Kiran that makes them feel this country is intolerant. Every country has problems. You can debate on it and have an opinion but one shouldn’t abuse the country. Don’t terrorise the country by saying that this country is intolerant. Nation comes first.

Aamir was the person who ran down Narendra Modi over the 2002 Gujarat riots. He abused him left, right and centre during the release of his film Fanaa because he wanted publicity. But he was among the first to go and meet Narendra Modi when he became the Prime Minster. Narendra Modi accepted you, hugged you and loved you. He introduced you to Swachh Bharat Abhyaan and made you the face of the campaign. Had this country or the Prime Minister been intolerant, he wouldn’t have accepted you. I fear that the core of people who Aamir Khan has insulted and humiliated shouldn’t get up and prove to him what intolerance really is.
