Anilkumar Bolla, an Indian man living in Dubai, caught the Internet’s attention after winning the UAE Lottery’s first-ever Dh100 million (more than Rs 240 crore). The 29-year-old, who won the jackpot in the 23rd Lucky Day Draw, chose his mother’s birthday as his lottery number.
The UAE Lottery recently shared an interview video on X featuring their newest millionaire, Bolla. The viral clip captures the emotional moment when he was announced as the winner.
During the interview, he opened up about how he selected his lucky ticket. “I haven’t done any magic or something, so I just chose the Easy Pick,” he explained with a smile. “The last number is very special. It’s my mum’s birthday.” Recalling the life-changing moment, he said, “I was in shock. I was sitting on the sofa, and I’m just feeling that, yes, I won it.”
The Indian expatriate emphasised that he intends to manage his winnings wisely. “I was just thinking about how I need to invest this amount, spend it in the right way. After winning this amount, I felt like I have money. Now, I need to work on my thoughts in the right way, and I want to do something big.”
While he admitted that he would love to buy a supercar and celebrate at a luxurious resort or even a seven-star hotel, he also wants to do something special for his family. “I just want to take my family to the UAE, and I want to enjoy my whole life staying with them,” he shared.
Bolla also plans to donate a portion of his winnings. “I believe that everything happens for a reason. I suggest each and every player to keep playing, and for sure, one day luck will come to you,” he said.

The video has been widely circulated across platforms, sparking a wave of reactions. Several users cautioned Bolla to invest in Dubai itself and not in India, as he would be taxed heavily. “Wow he will not return to India anyway. Else he will be taxed,” a user wrote. “You won in Dubai. Don’t invest in India! You’ll be taxed badly. Invest where they tax you less. Be smart. This life,” another user commented.
“Behind his success stands a mother’s silent prayer. Anil Kumar Bolla’s Dh100 million win in the UAE Lottery proves — nothing is stronger than a mother’s love,” a third user reacted.
