The KUV100 from Mahindra will be the only product in its segment to offer anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard feature across all trim levels.
In a pre-launch event organised in Mumbai, Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday revealed all the details of its upcoming mini SUV – the KUV100. It’s the same product which was internally known as the S101. With the Mahindra KUV100, the home-grown automaker also revealed an all-new engine family called mFALCON that will have both diesel and petrol powertrains.
Powering the petrol version of the Mahindra KUV100 will feature a 1.2-litre mFALCON G80 unit that is good for 82bhp and 114Nm. The diesel model, on the other hand, derives its power from mFalcon D 75, a 1.2-litre capacity engine, that produces 77bhp and 190Nm. Both the engines have been developed in-house, and are claimed to be the most powerful ones in the segment.
Termed as the “most ambitious project under taken by Mahindra & Mahindra”, the Mahindra KUV100 features wrap-around head-lights with LED DRLs, shot overhangs, high shoulder line, sculpture bonnet and square wheel arches. Though no details about the pricing were revealed, Pawan Goenka, executive director at Mahindra & Mahindra said that the pricing of the KUV100 will not disappoint its buyers like other M&M offerings.
The new compact SUV from Mahindra will be the only product in its segment to offer anti-lock braking system (ABS) as a standard feature across all trim levels. The company says that there will be a total of four trims in both petrol and diesel versions. During the event, the company also revealed that Varun Dhawan, Bollywood actor, will be the brand ambassador for the KUV100.
