The bomb threat messages were received at the Bengaluru airport command centre via an anonymous account on X.
Most of the threats received by airlines on Sunday came from an anonymous and unverified account —@schizophreniqqq— on social media platform X, per sources in the know. The account was later suspended by X.
Jamnagar Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu told The Indian Express that the airline's headquarters received the bomb threat and not the airport or police.
On Saturday, the account has so far posted bomb threats for 34 flights of Indian carriers, and has even started posting threats to overseas airlines like American Airlines, JetBlue, and Air New Zealand.
With these incidents, the number of confirmed instances of bomb threats to Indian carriers’ flights this week has risen to over 45.

Safety and security are considered paramount in aviation and precisely for this reason, even seemingly non-credible threats posted from anonymous and unverified social media accounts can have a disproportionate impact on flight operations.
Currently, such hoax bomb threats are dealt with in accordance with the country’s criminal laws, as there are no legal provisions dealing specifically with bomb threats to aircraft
Security agencies and police forces in different parts of the country are probing the threats and trying to trace and nab those behind them.
As many as 19 flights of Indian carriers have received bomb threats in the past three days.
While emphasising the importance of empowering frontline staff, Vistara Chairman Bhaskar Bhat said it will be ensured that passengers keep getting better and better services from the merged entity.
Although most bomb threats turn out to be fake, the security checks, which often take a few hours, result in disruptions like delays and even rescheduling of the remainder of the flight in some cases, which hit the airlines financially.
Notably, this comes at a time when ties between India and Canada have hit a low, marked by a public diplomatic showdown between the two countries.
In most cases, the threats were found to be hoaxes and the aircraft were released by security agencies after thorough checks and passenger screening, per sources.
Enhanced surveillance entails an increase in the spot checks and night surveillance of the airline’s operations to ensure operational safety.
Speaking about the collaboration, Neha Ahuja, Director of Marketing, Spotify India said: “Music is an integral part of travel, whether for work or holidays, and our partnership with IndiGo is so relevant because it allows us to tap into existing and new users.”
The airline is making alternative arrangements for the passengers to fly them to their destination at the earliest.
Indigo Flight Bomb Threat: While flight 6E 56 was operating from Mumbai to Jeddah, the other — 6E 1275 — was flying to Muscat.
