The students at the University Business School of Panjab University are not only trained in the finer nuances of business administration.

They are also given a proper grounding to build on their moral building.

From sending their students to social organisations like old age homes and cancer patient homes, the department also ensures that its students cater to and interact with people during the department’s functions.

The students make these visits and interactions as part of assignments,on completing which they make presentations for evaluation.

Talking to Newsline,Chairperson of the department Prof Dinesh Gupta said,”It is not that students need only professional training. Their personalities also need to be groomed. Though they are going to be professional in managing things, they still need to grow morally.”

Another interesting exercise includes tagging a junior student with a senior for a month. Having been started this year, the move is an attempt to check the number of ragging incidents in the university.

“Moral responsibilities are very important and students should learn how to fulfill the same. We believe that only good human beings can become good leaders and therefore try and inculcate the best that we can in our students. Once they enter their professional lives,no one will guide them,” added Gupta.
