In a suspected case of honour killing, two teenaged lovers were found dead and their bodies recovered from the house of the girls uncle at Nimliwali village,14 km from Bhiwani,on Sunday.

Rinku,22,and Monika,18,were allegedly hanged to death by the girls family members. Rinku,a resident of Manhera village, visited Nimliwali after getting a call from Monika about 1 pm. They met at her uncles house, where they were caught in a compromising position, and were beaten up mercilessly and hanged to death, said sources.

Confirming the incident,Bhiwani Sadar SHO Prem Chand said the injury marks on their bodies indicated that they were tortured before death.

Sources said Rinku used to visit Nimliwali frequently as it was his mothers native village, where he came in contact with Monika. But their union was opposed by the girls parents as it was against popular customs.

A case of murder was registered at Bhiwani Sadar Police Station. A senior police officer said the bodies were taken into custody and the exact cause of death would be ascertained after the post-mortem report.
