The All India Cabin Crew Association (AICCA) which claims to be the majority cabin crew union in national carrier Air India has deferred its proposed agitation indefinitely after the carriers management gave an assurance to the AICCA that granting it a majority union status would be considered in the course of the coming few weeks.
Citing the Delhi High Court order of February 25 that ordered the carriers management to determine the unions majority status within 60 days, the AICCA has alleged that the management continues to pander & prop about granting it the same.
AICCA is primarily an erstwhile Air India union and post merger, the erstwhile Indian Airlines cabin crew union,Air Corporation Employees Union (ACEU) has also claimed to be a majority status union. According to AICCA,their membership strength is above 2,000 members which includes 600 cabin crew members from the erstwhile Indian Airlines.
