Verizon network users faced service outages across the United States on Monday in accessing the company’s wireless network.

Some of the users reported that their phone service was down and limited to only SOS mode, according to CBS News.

Downdetector, a site that tracks service outages for telecommunications, internet among other providers, reported that more than 1,00,000 users were facing issues with the network.

The Verizon service outage was reported from New York to Los Angeles and customers’ main complaint was linked to lack of service on their respective mobile phones.

A customer posted his issue on Verizon’s customer support account on X and stated, “It’s been over two hours and we don’t even know why this is happening. We all pay a pretty penny for our Verizon bill, this time should be compensated until the issue is fully resolved.”

Verizon had later on acknowledged the issue in its network being faced by thousands across the US and said that they are working to restore the services.

Verizon, in a post on X said, “We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue.”

The United States Federal Communications Commission also reacted to Verizon’s widespread outage of service and said, “We’re aware of a Verizon outage impacting customers in parts of the country. We are working to determine the cause and extent of these service disruptions.”

The users were getting frustrated due to the lack of cell service and an inability to connect to the network, according to a report by CNN.
