NRI teacher suspended for sex with students

The accused teacher pleaded guilty to two charges of abusing her position of trust.

A British Indian teacher has been suspended from her school for seducing a 15-year-old schoolboy with the promise of a warm bed while her young children slept at her ex-husband’s house.

Hina Patel,a supply teacher at Birkdale High School for Boys near Southport,Merseyside,was suspended after admitting having sex with two 15-year-old teenagers earlier this year. The Daily Mail reported today that on the eve of her sentencing,one of the boys has told of the steamy text messages he received from 37-year-old Patel,during a school day.

Patel pleaded guilty to two charges of abusing her position of trust by sexual misconduct at North Sefton Magistrates Court and will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday. One of the 15-tear-old students said he slept with Patel at her home after she led him up the stairs,saying: “Get in bed,the electric blanket’s on”. Patel was suspended as soon as the allegations emerged earlier this year.

“I am appalled she used her position in such a way,” said Birkdale headteacher Loveridge last month.

“We are relieved we found out at such an early stage – but it just shows how you have to be very vigilant and your processes have to be robust”.
