Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor. Tim Walz, embarked on their “Road to Chicago” bus tour, making stops in western Pennsylvania, ahead of the Democratic National Convention.
Joined by second gentleman Doug Emhoff and Minnesota’s first lady, Gwen Walz, the group made their first joint campaign trail appearance, as reported by NBC News.
Harris and Governor Tim Walz launched a whirlwind bus tour of southwestern Pennsylvania on Sunday, seeking to build momentum for their ticket ahead of the Democratic National Convention.
Accompanied by their spouses, they touched down at Pittsburgh International Airport and were greeted by enthusiastic supporters.
The tour kicks off their final campaign events before the convention, which features remarks by President Joe Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, among others.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is preparing for the September 10 debate against Harris, enlisting former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s help, who “successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage” in 2020, according to Trump’s national press secretary, as per a report by NBC News.
The Harris’ team has tapped Philippe Reines, a longtime Democratic strategist, to play Trump in her debate preparation.
