Students and parents expressed worries about safety measures at the school. Ariana Kinsch, a student, suggested that the school "needs metal detectors because it's out of control." The incident has raised questions about the school's security protocols. While one student was initially reported to be in police custody, a spokesperson for the Melbourne Police Department later clarified that no students were currently in custody. It remains unclear whether charges will be filed against either of the students involved. Parents were informed about the incident through text messages and emails from the school district.
