Colombian senator and presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turba, who was shot at during a campaign event in Bogota in June, has died, his family announced on Monday. 39-year-old Uribe Turbay was undergoing treatment, and was said to be in an extremely critical condition after being shot in the head on June 7 during a rally in Western Bogota. The grandson of former president Julio César Turbay Ayala, Uribe Turba was shot three times at an event in the capital Bogota, on June 7. He suffered injuries to the head and leg in the attack. He underwent emergency surgery, but remained in a critical condition till his death on Monday. Two others, including a man who allegedly provided the gun to the teenager and a woman suspected of providing "logistical support" for the attack, have also been arrested by the authorities.
