Launched in 2006, this campaign has expanded significantly over the years. It is celebrated annually on March 13 and in 2025, the observance falls on a Thursday, under the theme “Are Your Kidneys OK? Detect early, protect kidney health,” as mentioned on worldkidneyday.org.

This year’s campaign focuses on the importance of early detection of kidney disease and emphasises understanding risk factors, conducting timely tests for at-risk populations, and implementing early interventions to avert complications.

Around the world, numerous events take place aimed at promoting awareness about preventive measures, identifying risk factors, and supporting those living with kidney disease, ultimately striving for kidney health for everyone.
