It is one of Tripura’s most important festivals, held on Monday to honour the deity of health and livestock, a revered figure in the northeastern state.

The Tripura state government declares a public holiday on this day, which implies that government offices, post offices, schools, and other public institutions would be closed. Additionally, all government and private sector banks in Tripura would be closed on this day.

Upcoming bank holidays in April 2025

As the month comes to an end, banks in India will get two holidays in April 2025, in addition to the customary weekly days off on April 26 (fourth) Saturday and April 27, Sunday.

Online banking and ATM services are open

Despite the fact that physical bank offices will not be open on holidays, customers can still access digital and net banking services like ATMs and UPI, unless the bank notifies them otherwise (usually for planned maintenance). On the other hand, transactions involving cheques and promissory notes will not be possible over the holidays according to the Negotiable Instruments Act.
