In a significant move for smooth and cost-effective travel across national roads throughout the country, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has announced a new annual pass for FASTags.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari verified this news on his official X (previously Twitter) page, where he states that the FASTag-based Annual Pass would cost Rs 3,000 and will go into effect on August 15, 2025.

This yearly pass is good for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 journeys, whichever comes first, and this permit is only intended for non-commercial private vehicles such as automobiles, jeeps, and vans.

A specific link for activation and renewal will be accessible shortly on the Rajmarg Yatra App, as well as the NHAI and MoRTH official websites.

This policy addresses long-standing concerns with toll plazas located within a 60-kilometre radius and consolidates toll payments into a single, cost-effective transaction.

The Annual Pass is intended to minimise wait times, congestion, and conflicts at toll booths, resulting in a faster and more seamless travel experience for millions of private car owners.
