Violent clashes broke out in Bolivia between supporters of Evo Morales and political opponents a day after the former Bolivian President resigned from his post following massive protests over alleged discrepancies in the general elections held last month.
Amid the unrest, some rioters also vandalised Morales’ house, a video of which later surfaced on social media. Tweeted by a journalist Joaquín López-Dóriga, the clip shows destroyed furniture, broken door and other items lying strewn on the ground.

After holding the office for nearly 14 years, Morales stepped down amid violent unrest in the South American nation after the Organization of American States stated that they found “clear manipulation” in the elections last month, the Washingtonpost reported.
The people of Bolivia were infuriated by the President’s attempt to undermine democracy to extend his rule. In a national address, Morales and his vice president, Álvaro García Linera, who also resigned, announced that they were stepping down due to the ongoing riots. However, the duo did not admit to any wrongdoings and said that they were victims of a coup.
