Veera Jain later took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared the whole story. She also posted pictures of the food served to her by the airline.

Veera JainThe non-veg portion in my veg meal came first, followed by the delay.

A woman passenger onboard an Air India flight from Calicut to Mumbai was in for a shock when she found pieces of chicken in the vegetarian food served to her in the flight.
Veera Jain later took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared the whole story. She also posted pictures of the food served to her by the airline.

“On my @airindia flight AI582, I was served a veg meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. This was a flight that was supposed to take off at 18:40PM but left the airport at 19:40PM,” Jain wrote.

The pictures she posted of her food packet clearly show the word “veg” on the wrapper, but the chicken pieces in it are also unmissable. She further tweeted, “When I informed the cabin supervisor (Sona), she apologized and informed me that there was more than one complaint about the same issue other than me and my friend. However, after I informed the crew, there was no action taken to inform other passengers having vegetarian meals.”
She added that her sentiments were hurt and has lost her faith in Air India.

Another issue Veera seemed to experience was the delay in the take-off of the flight. She said the AI582 flight was to take-off at 6.40 pm, but the flight was late by an hour. Due to the late flight, her friend missed her train which she was supposed to take from Mumbai for Ahmedabad at 11 pm that night. The AI582 was scheduled to land in Mumbai at 8.40 pm. In her post, Jain tagged the Indian Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA), Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and urged them to look into the matter as Air India has not yet commented on this incident.
