Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is in Prague to attend the World Road Congress. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, who is currently in Czech Republic to attend the World Road Congress event in Prague, took a “test drive” in a hydrogen bus on Monday. The minister took to X, formerly Twitter, to share photos and videos of him riding the hydrogen bus manufactured by Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda.

In a video, he is seen seated on the bus as officials are engaged in conversation regarding how many kilometres the bus is able to run on one charge. “Hydrogen buses hold significant promise in reducing carbon emissions and addressing environmental concerns, contributing to a cleaner and greener future,” says the caption of the video.

Earlier, Gadkari had posted about being welcomed by Transport Minister of Czech Republic Martin Kupka at the World Road Congress event in Prague. He had also met Malaysian Minister of Works Alexander Nanta Linggi at the event.
The World Road Congress is held every four years in a member country ever since the first World Road Congress was organised in Paris in 1908. The World Road Congress is held with the aim to share techniques and experience worldwide in the field of road infrastructures and road transport.
The XXVIIth World Road Congress is the first post-Covid Road Congress that began in Prague on October 2. The tagline for this year’s conference is “Together on the Road again”.
