In their Instagram video, the family appeared delighted as they explored the meal tray served during the rideIndia continues to leave a lasting impression on international visitors, and a recent video of a British family travelling on the Vande Bharat Express has gone viral for all the right reasons.
The Hutchinson family, currently touring India, shared a cheerful review of their four-hour Vande Bharat journey, praising everything from the scenic views to the onboard hospitality. In their Instagram video, the family appeared delighted as they explored the meal tray served during the ride — a moment that quickly won over Indian social media users and became a point of pride online.
The family of four — a couple and their two daughters — gave viewers a glimpse of what it’s like to travel on one of India’s most modern trains. The mother said, “These tickets actually cost us about 11 pounds each for four of us, and it comes with food. The girls have got their food already.”
The tray included a mix of light and fun snacks: diet mixture, caramel popcorn, a patty, mango juice, and a sachet of Chaayos ginger tea premix. Initially unsure about the tea sachet, the family’s doubts vanished once hot water was poured in. The woman smiled, saying, “It’s really nice, it smells delicious too. Wow.” Her husband added playfully, “It’s a diet mixture — they’re looking after people’s figures here!” as their daughters happily munched on the snacks.

The video has since racked up more than 1.5 million views and hundreds of heartwarming comments. Chaayos themselves joined the fun, commenting, “Thank you for the lovely words (and for not swallowing the premix directly).”
Many viewers praised the family for showcasing a positive and realistic side of India. One user commented, “Finally some foreigners showing good side of India and have a good budget.” Another wrote, “Always a pleasure to hear wonderful things about India… Most people tend to focus on the negatives, but I must compliment you for doing great reviews.”
Another Instagram user advised future travellers to experience India comfortably: “Yes, please travel India with at least a decent budget, you’ll get good trains, hotels, food, beaches… the country has its poor side too, but the government is trying hard to improve it.”
Just recently, another traveller from Australia echoed similar sentiments. In an emotional video, he described India’s warmth as “unmatched like any other in the world,” recalling how a man he’d met only days earlier went out of his way to make him feel at home, a small gesture that left a deep impression on him.
