Tiger hit by vehicle in Maharashtra, dies later. Video angers netizens

It is advisable to travel at slower speeds while passing though forested areas and wildlife sanctuaries as wild animals may get hit by vehicles posing a danger to their life. A heartbreaking video of a tiger that was allegedly hit by a car has surfaced online.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan shared the clip showing the tiger after it was purportedly hit by a four-wheeler. The tiger is seen struggling on the road as a car with its emergency lights on is at a standstill. The grievously injured tiger then limps towards the forest. The incident reportedly occurred in Maharashtra’s Nagzira Sanctuary.

“Dear friends Wildlife has first right of way in #wildlife habitats. So always travel safely & slowly. This tiger hit by vehicle at Nagzira,” Kaswan posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The tiger reportedly died according to the man, Vijay Pinjarkar, a journalist, who originally posted the video on the microblogging website.

“Absolutely, wildlife deserves our utmost respect and protection. Let’s remember to drive cautiously in wildlife habitats to ensure their safety and well-being. It’s sad to hear about the tiger incident at Nagzira, highlighting the importance of responsible travel,” a user commented. “This is heartbreaking,” said another. “So sad! It’s our moral and ethical duty also to protect,” another person wrote.
