Coming across a 12-feet long cobra might cause many people to freeze in fear but this is not the case with Nick Bishop, a self-proclaimed animal handler and snake wrangler. Over the years, Bishop has built a significant social media following for recording his encounters with snakes and other reptiles.

Earlier this month, he shared a video in which he is seen holding a 12 feet long cobra and then kissing the cobra’s hood.

While sharing this video on his Instagram account, Bishop wrote, “Would you kiss a 12 Foot KING COBRA?! 😳🐍”. This video has gathered over two lakh likes since it was posted on May 8. Many netizens expressed awe at Bishop’s ability to to hold the highly venomous snake without getting bitten.

Commenting on it, a Twitter user wrote, “Bro’s out here doing up scenes like Indiana Jones movies!!!🍿🐍🫣😅 Absolutely EPIC encounter Nick, the way you handled so smoothly at the exact same time as the snap back… whooooo, you were flowing mate. Hope you throughly enjoyed your moment of zen.” Another person wrote, “That’s why womens live more longer than men…”.

Bishop explained his odd snake-wrangling hobby to MEAWW News in 2021 and said, “The biggest misconception of snakes is that they attack and chase people when in reality, every time I have ever been bitten it was because it was being defensive. That’s why it’s my goal to help bring some understanding about the animals that I love.” He also added, “Snakes don’t want to use their precious energy on humans. They need that energy to hunt and to survive.”

In May 2020, Indian Forest Service official Shailendra Singh shared a video that shows a forest official rescuing a cobra with bare hands in Goa’s Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. Cobra bites can be lethal if not treated with antivenom promptly.
