In a video shared on Instagram, Namita Thapar, executive director of Emcure and one of the judges on the reality TV show Shark Tank India 3, expressed her pleasure regarding a business aiding women’s health and hygiene.
In her post, she stated, “Women often neglect their health & remain silent. I’ve utilized @sharktank.india platform to discuss my journey with mental health, IVF, fitness & now perimenopause. Perimenopause precedes menopause by 2-10 years, marked by erratic periods. It typically starts in the mid-40s, bringing mood swings, insomnia, hot flashes & more. Many women lack awareness about symptoms, treatment options, making it a challenging phase. It’s been tough for me personally. Using the Matri pitch, I shared my journey & aimed to educate… Let’s prioritize our health!”
Later, in a post on X, she shared her joy at the reel getting widespread attention, emphasising the need to have honest conversations regarding ‘perimenopause.’ “I am very happy to see the virality of my reel on perimenopause, it shows that honest & open conversations are much needed. For the first time, I have replied to many on my insta handle, let’s start a movement to bust taboos & get educated on health,” she wrote in her post.
