In a high-intensity Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2025 clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) pulled off a breathtaking chase against Gujarat Titans (GT), after hunting down a target of 210 in under 16 overs to claim their third win of the season on Monday, April 28.

What made the night unforgettable was the phenomenal performance by 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who shattered records with a 35-ball century. Opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryavanshi delivered a fiery performance, guiding RR to a win with a spectacular century, his first in T20 cricket.

At just 14 years, Suryavanshi became the youngest player in men’s T20 history to score a century. The left-hander accelerated even further after racing to his half-century in just 17 balls, a milestone achieved by a 26-run over off veteran Ishant Sharma.

Suryavanshi went on against GT, hammering 30 runs in a single over off debutant Karim Janat. He scored the fastest century of IPL 2025, reaching the milestone in just 35 balls, the second-fastest in IPL history, just behind Chris Gayle.

On the other hand, GT’s reliable opening duo, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, got their team off to a strong start. Despite the RR trying different bowling options to break the stand, the left-right pair dominated, hitting boundaries all over the field. They added 53 runs in the powerplay and built a solid 93-run partnership before Sudharsan lost his wicket at 39.

England’s Jos Buttler then joined Gill, and the pair added another 74 runs for the second wicket. Gill scored 84 off 50 balls, including five fours and four sixes, before being removed by Maheesh Theekshana.
