‘Only cowards can attack pilgrims’: Parineeti Chopra, Richa Chadha and other celebrities condemn Reasi terrorist attack

As social media mourns the victims of Sunday’s terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, celebrities such as Parineeti Chopra, Richa Chadha and Armaan Malik have condemned the attack that killed nine pilgrims including a child and injured 33 others.

“Heartbroken to see the images coming in from #Reasi. Praying for the family of the deceased; may God give them strength, and may the injured recover as soon as possible,” actress Parineeti Chopra wrote on X.

 

“Only cowards can attack pilgrims peacefully headed to a place of worship. May justice be served. Heartbreaking news at the start of this week,” actress Richa Chadha wrote.

“Deeply disturbed pained saddened by the attack on pilgrims in Reasi. Jammu, May Almighty give the loved ones of victims the strength to bear the pain. prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured,” actor Mohit Raina wrote.

“Devastated by the horrific attack on innocent pilgrims in Reasi. I strongly condemn this cowardly terrorist act. Praying for the departed souls. My condolences to the victims and their families,” Varun Dhawan wrote.

“Just learned about the horrific terror attack on the innocent pilgrims in #Reasi. My thoughts and prayers are with the departed souls, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families,” singer Armaan Malik wrote.

 

“My heart goes out to all the victims affected by the Reasi attack. Horrified. Innocent lives lost. My heartfelt condolences to all the victims and their families. Praying for the speedy recovery of all those injured,” actress Rashmika Mandanna wrote on Instagram.

 

The terrorists opened fire on a bus that was ferrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori cave shrine in Reasi district. The incident took place near Teryath village at 6.10 pm.

“We received reports that militants were lying in wait and they fired on the bus, which had left Shivpuri and was on its way to Katra. As a result, the driver lost control and the bus fell into a gorge. Rescue operation has been completed—nine people are dead, and the 33 injured have been hospitalised. The people (on the bus) are not locals, but their identities are yet to be confirmed. So far, we’ve learnt that they may be from Uttar Pradesh,” Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma said.
