Social media has been buzzing with memes around Prime Video’s web series Panchayat. Hopping on the trend, Delhi police warned commuters against drunk driving with a hilarious yet impactful scene from the series featuring Jitendra Kumar aka Sachiv ji.
In the viral scene, Kumar’s character Abhishek Tripathi asks Prahlad Pandey to take him to phakauli bazaar. However, Tripathi does not let drunk Pandey drive. Delhi police leave a message towards the end of the video, saying, “Emergency chahe kitni bhi ho, sharab pi kar gaadi na chalyein aur nahi chalane dein (Don’t drink drive or allow drunk driving if even it’s an emergency).”
Sharing the video, Delhi police wrote, “Well done! Secretary ji….very well done.”

“I have seen police officers taking bribe near to IGI airport for not checking cars or may be this is hafta. Do something there,” a third user said.
Earlier, Mumbai police gave a Heeramandi twist to its public safety campaign. The official Instagram handle of Mumbai police shared viral shayaris from the Netflix show. The first slide of the post said, “Ek baar dekh lijiye, deewana bana dijiye, challan kaatne ke liye taiyar hai hum, toh helmet pehen lijiye (Look at me once, make me crazy, we are ready to issue challans, so better wear your helmets).”
The next slide said, “Purane passwords dohrae nahi jaate, bhula diye jaate hai (Old passwords are not repeated, are to be forgotten).” The third slide said, “OTP bataane aur barbaad hone ke beech koi farak nahi hota (There is no difference between sharing your OTP and being destroyed).”
Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi: The Diamond Baazar became the most-viewed Netflix show in India. Panchayat season 3, on the other hand, triggered a meme fest across all social media platforms.
