Sharing an update about the complaint he made, Vasudevan said he received a call from the Bhopal DRM office. “Got a call from Bhopal DRM office acknowledging the issue which was also found by their folks on patrol. They have got the maintenance team to clean the same,” he informed.

Reacting to the viral picture, another user commented, “I keep repeating this. We Indians do not deserve nice things.” Yet another user wrote, “When some people do spit their paan/gutka/ or anything else, rest of the people should raise their voice and make these people clean this. They’ll learn by that only, not by posts.”

In 2022, a picture of a hilarious warning poster from a railway station asking commuters to stop spitting went viral. The poster imitated the iconic dialogue from the 1975 blockbuster ‘Deewar’.

According to reports, Indian Railways spends around Rs 1,200 crore and gallons of water to clean stains caused by people spitting on its premises, especially by pan and tobacco chewers.
