From a dead mouse in a bottle of chocolate syrup to a human finger in ice cream, the internet has seen it all. In a recent incident, however, a retired school principal has found four dentures in the chocolate she received at a child’s birthday party.
According to India Today, Mayadevi Gupta, who volunteers at a non-governmental organisation at Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, ate the coffee-flavoured chocolate days after she received it from a student at the party. Upon eating the chocolate, from a popular brand, she found it difficult to chew and felt a crunch. She took it out and was taken aback when she found a set of four false teeth.
Following the incident, Gupta filed a complaint with the district food and drug department. According to the report, the officials have collected samples from the shop from where the chocolate was bought and have sent them to a laboratory. The investigation is underway.
Last month, a dead mouse was found in a bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup that was ordered from a quick-commerce company. According to reports, three family members consumed the contaminated syrup before discovering the dead mouse in it and one of them had to get a medical examination done.
In the same month, a Mumbai-based doctor found a human finger in an ice cream. According to reports, a DNA report of the finger confirmed that the flesh belonged to a worker at a Pune factory. The worker had got his finger cut while working at a scotch crushing machine and was treated by a doctor.
