Mother’s Day is a global celebration dedicated to mothers and motherly figures. In India, the day is observed on the second Sunday of May every year. On the occasion today, several prominent figures including PM Modi, Anand Mahindra, Sachin Tendulkar remembered their mothers and dedicated inspirational posts.

Business tycoon Anand Mahindra shared an unseen picture from 1997 featuring his mother and himself. Sharing the photo, Mahindra wrote, “Back in 1977. Just before I left for college. My mother wasn’t looking into the camera; As usual she was gazing into the distance…trying to envision her childrens’ future, hoping that a good education would be their passport to success—and happiness. Happy #MothersDay Ma. We’ll keep trying to live up to your dreams for us.”

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar thanked his ‘Aai’ with a heartfelt note. Sharing a picture with his mother, he wrote, “Mothers turn houses into homes and hard times into comforting hugs. My Aai has done that and so much more. Thank you, Aai, for being my rock. Happy Mother’s Day!”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered his late mother Heeraben on Mother’s Day. In a video shared by journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, PM Modi can be seen addressing a rally.

He notices a man standing with a sketch featuring himself with his mother and says, “I see that man standing for so long. Your hands will start hurting but you brought the sketch here with so much love and that too you made a sketch of my mother. We celebrate Mother’s Day today. We Indians worship our mothers, Goddess Durga, Goddess Kali and Bharat Mata 365 days.”

Sadhguru, founder of the Isha Foundation, shared a heart-touching quote on X. Sharing a picture of him carrying an infant in his arms, he wrote, “The beauty of motherhood is not in reproduction but in inclusion – to experience another life as a part of yourself.”
