There has been a rise in concerns over the quality of food on online grocery stores. A man, recently, found a live worm in an orange he had ordered from Zepto. On February 15, the man shared an image and a video of the live worm and expressed his plight on X.
He wrote, “I ordered oranges from @ZeptoNow and found a live warm in one of the oranges I received.” Despite several tries, he couldn’t reach Zepto to registed his complaint and slammed the company in another post. “Unable to complaint on zepto..what kind of service are you providing no help from app,” he claimed.
Following this, the man received a call from Zepto customer service, who apologised for the issue and initiated a refund. “I recv a call from @zeptocares, the social media admin. He apologized for the issue, initiated the refund, & assured me that such incidents would not recur in the future. He also mentioned that they wld investigate the store’s safety measures to prevent similar isues frm ocuring,” the man said.
He further requested FSSAI to address such issues.

Zepto responded to the post and promised to resolve the issue. “Hi, This shouldn’t have happened. Could you please DM us your registered contact details? Our team will look into this right away,” the company wrote.
