Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “After creating a highway why don’t you we plant good amount of trees there? Start using an helicopter and sow some seeds all across the region and see the difference.” Another user commented, “So scary.”
“What have they done to Uttarakhand! never was before like this when no char dham road was being built,” a third user reacted.
On Tuesday, a similar incident took place at Chundu Dhar in Joshimath. According to reports, the Badrinath Highway was blocked last week too, after debris fell and piled up at two locations in Chamoli. The disruption left many commuters stranded.
On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Uttarakhand, warning of extremely heavy rainfall in the state over the next three-four days in the Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pauri districts of Uttarakhand.
